What is Therapy?

Therapy is regulated by licensure and rules. In Texas, this is the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council. I maintain a full Professional Counseling License (LPC-S) and complete continuing education courses each year. Additionally, I have certifications adding specializations. These certifications are regulated and updated yearly

Generally, therapy addresses mental health concerns, life changes, and other symptoms that may affect everyday life. Therapy can be past, present, and future-oriented, introspective, and emotion-based.

Therapy sessions are often longer than coaching sessions. Additionally, the sessions often continue for longer periods of time to address mental health concerns and goals.
