The question as old as time- Is your teen getting enough sleep? Many parents fret about the amount of sleep their teen receives. Sleep is c critical to brain development, memory, concentration, and assists in emotional regulation. Studies show that the average American teen needs about 9 hours of sleep although they typically get only 7. More often they choose to break up their sleeping into chunks, opting for naps.
Signs that your teen is not getting enough sleep:
Frequent mood swings
Academic difficulties
Frequent naps during the day
Fatigue
Helpful Tips To Improve Your Teens Sleep:
Create and model a bedtime routine
Put electronics up and away after a cut-off time
Limit naps after school
Limit caffeine
Review teen's time management and organization skills
